Public holidays in Poland 2026
Every nationwide public holiday in Poland in 2026 — 14 dates, each with its weekday.
Last reviewed 7 July 2026
Poland has 14 nationwide public holidays in 2026. That count covers the whole country only: regional observances, wherever a particular Polish voivodeship or local authority marks its own days, come on top of this list, so plenty of residents get more than 14 days off work.
The shape of the year
The year opens with New Year’s Day on Thursday 1 January and closes with St. Stephen’s Day on Saturday 26 December. Between those two, the calendar has one long gap worth planning around: 89 days pass between Epiphany and Easter Sunday without a single nationwide holiday, the longest stretch in the year.
Weekday luck in 2026
How the dates fall against the working week matters as much as the count. In 2026, only 1 of the 14 holidays lands on a Monday, and 2 fall on a Friday, the two positions that most easily extend a weekend into a long one. Six holidays fall on a weekend outright: Easter Sunday, Constitution Day and Pentecost all fall on a Sunday, Assumption Day and St. Stephen’s Day fall on a Saturday, and All Saints’ Day falls on a Sunday. A public holiday that lands on a weekend is often simply a lost day off, unless local rules move it to a weekday in lieu, which varies by country and is not something to assume here.
Figures on this page come from the Nager.Date open holiday dataset, current as of this page’s last review. Governments can and do adjust holiday dates after publication, so treat the calendar below as a strong working reference rather than a permanent fixture.
